Official Statement From Patrick Mulvihill with Rotary Veterans Memorial Club of North Jacksonville
The POW-MIA MISSING MAN TABLE UNVEILING CEREMONY was held on September 4, 2025. For the second year in a row, the North Jacksonville Florida Veterans Memorial Rotary Club and the First Coast High School JR ROTC U.S. Navy joined the Jacksonville Aviation Authority leadership team and many, many other governmental, civic, corporate, and military veterans’ organizations.
This included a team from Rolling Thunder NE Florida Chapter 4, NE Florida Green Beret Chapter 88 of the U.S. Army Special Forces Association, the Leadership Team from the National POW-MIA Memorial and Museum at Cecil Field. The table is a ceremonial tribute displayed to honor fallen, missing, or imprisoned military service members and the families who seek their return. It is a very respectful remembrance of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. The exhibit at the JAX Airport will run September 4 to 30, 2025.
Students from First Coast High School played an important role in this year’s ceremony once again. The National POW-MIA Recognition Day is held on the third Friday of every September. While it is observed on a specific day, it is also a time to remember, honor, and teach throughout the entire month of September 2025 about those who were or are prisoners-of-war or missing-in-action.
This year the National POW-MIA Memorial and Museum at Cecil Field will hold its annual observance ceremonies on Saturday, September 20, 2025.
