First Coast News and TEGNA Foundation Award $25,000 in Community Grants to Aid 10 Jacksonville-Area Nonprofit Organizations
Jacksonville, FL – First Coast News and the TEGNA Foundation, the charitable foundation sponsored by TEGNA Inc. (NYSE: TGNA), has awarded 10 area nonprofit organizations community grants totaling $25.000.
Community grants in the First Coast area are aimed at addressing needs made more urgent by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, including homelessness, domestic abuse, food insecurity, military employment and children’s cancer care.
Among the grant recipients are:
• CECIL FIELD POW/MIA MEMORIAL, Inc.: The grant will support Phase I of the project that honors and remembers NAS CECIL FIELD (1941-1999). This is the first of many phases that will be constructed on 26-acres of property in Northeast Florida and future home of the NATIONAL POW/MIA MEMORIAL & MUSEUM.

The TEGNA Foundation Community Grants program addresses the diverse local community needs in communities served by TEGNA. Most grants awarded fall into one of the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goal Categories: Good Health and Well-Being, Quality Education, and Zero Hunger. Other goals supported include: No Poverty, Reduced Inequality, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Life Below Water, Peace and Justice, and Strong Institutions.
