About Dr. Manuel A. Cordero
Dr. Manuel A. Cordero is the Senior Director for U.S. Chaplaincy Ministries for The General Council of the Assemblies of God. He is the Endorsing Official for all Assembly of God Chaplains in the US and has been in chaplaincy ministry for more than 44 years.
He received a B.S. in Bible from Central Bible College, Springfield, MO; a Master of Divinity from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Springfield, MO; and a Doctor in Ministry in Marriage and Family Therapy from Palmer Seminary, Philadelphia, PA.
He served in the Federal Bureau of Prisons for nearly 24 years.
At the time of his retirement from the Federal Bureau of Prisons he was an assistant to the Chief of Chaplains, Washington, D.C. He also served as Associate Pastor of Oasis City Church, Philadelphia, PA. and Outreach Pastor for Central Assembly of God, Springfield, MO.
Dr. Cordero served as a Board Member for The Coalition of Prison Evangelists; Correctional Ministries and Chaplains Association, The Institute for Prison Ministry at the Billy Graham Center, Wheaton College, the American Correctional Chaplains Association and Oasis Youth Foundation.
Chaplain Cordero is a recipient of The Chaplain of the Year from the Institute of Prison Ministry of the Billy Graham Center at Wheaton College in 2010, Alumnus of the year from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Springfield, MO in 2014.
He lives in Springfield, Missouri with his wife Christine. He has a son Nathan, a daughter Angela and six grandchildren.
