We were honored to have several members of the VA-86 squadron reunion attend a presentation and tour of the site on 14 August. Not only was the reunion an opportunity to reunite with good friends and squadron-mates but also to pay tribute to those members lost. During the Vietnam War, VA-86 lost four aviators during their combat deployments, LCDR Randy Ford, LCDR James Sullivan, LCDR James Hall, and LCDR Michael Hoff. LCDR Ford and Sullivan were initially held as POWs but passed in captivity. LCDR Hall was initially MIA but his remains were identified and recovered in 2000. LCDR Hoff to this day is still MIA and unaccounted for. All these men are honored on the Memorial’s Hero’s Walk.
