Today, the historic S-3 Viking made its journey from Cecil Airport Hangar 1820 to its new home at the Cecil Field Legacy Plaza & Memorial at the National POW/MIA Memorial & Museum.
Now positioned alongside the F/A-18 Hornet and the A-7 Corsair II, and soon to be joined by an A-4 Skyhawk, the Legacy Plaza continues to grow into a powerful tribute to those who served.
This remarkable move was made possible through extraordinary teamwork and community partnership. Thank you to:

We also recognize the former Viking maintainers and aircrew who worked tirelessly to prepare the aircraft — your dedication honors the legacy it represents.
And a special kudos for the simply outstanding tactical operation and maneuvering of the aircraft by Brian Corfman, The Boeing Company — who has served as the “tractor” driver for all three aircraft placed at the Memorial to date. Precision. Skill. Professionalism.
Soon, the S-3 Viking will be proudly emblazoned with the POW/MIA flag symbol, a visible reminder of our nation’s enduring promise: You Are Not Forgotten.
