The National POW/MIA Memorial and Museum hosted an extraordinary day of remembrance this past Saturday, honoring the brave sacrifices made by our nation’s prisoners of war, those who remain unaccounted for, and their families. The event featured a delightful array of food, engaging activities, informative tours of the museum, and a poignant Recognition Day service held in the Chapel, with keynote speaker James S. Hartsell, USMC MG (Ret.).

The festivities culminated with the conclusion of the Florida’s 5th Seven Bridges POW/MIA Remembrance Day Ride, which saw the participation of over 200 riders and our Recognition Day service held in the Chapel, highlighted by the JU ROTC rendering of the Missing Man Table ceremony and the beautiful voices of Jasmine Jackson and Kela Chatman.

A heartfelt thank you to the Rotary Club of North Jacksonville for their delicious BAR-B-Q lunch, as well as to Chunky Tomato and Dobber's Dogs food trucks for providing tasty offerings. Veterans United Craft Brewery also added to the day’s enjoyment with their refreshing beverages as music filled the air throughout the event, courtesy of the Matt Altman Band.

Additionally, Forgotten Coast K9 was present, along with the Military Vehicle Preservation Association, showcasing their impressive collection of antique military equipment. We also extend our gratitude to the Patriot Guard Riders for their respectful display of the Vietnam Wall and the impressive flyover by Dreamland Squadron.

We thank everyone that was able to attend on this solemn day of remembrance, and we look forward to next year's event and further growth of the National POW/MIA Memorial & Museum.
